Therapeutic Sea Salt Dead Skin Scrub

In this 30 or 60 minute treatment you will be laying on our massage table with a towel over you, our therapist will only expose the area to be worked on.  Sea Salt mixed with sweet almond oil and either lemon, lavender or mint essential oil  is applied to the area and gently massaged into your skin and then removed with hot towels, your therapist will then apply moisturising lotion to the area treated,  sweet almond oil, and some aromatic essential oil like lemon, lavender, or mint. Sea salt is a type of salt that comes from the evaporation of seawater.

The taste, texture, and processing are what makes sea salt different from table salt.  Sea salt is typically not processed or minimally processed since it comes directly through the evaporation of seawater.  Because of minimal processing, sea salt has various trace minerals such as magnesium, calcium, zinc, iron and potassium.

Table salt is used in recipes and on food, it undergoes processing to give it a fine texture. When this happens, you lose the minerals that are present in sea salt.  There are many types of sea salts available on the market.  Dead Sea salt, which is sourced directly from the Dead Sea, comes in a variety of grains including fine, coarse and extra coarse.  Some products also contain scents like lavender, vanilla and rosemary.

Dead Sea salt is said to be of the highest quality and is best for therapeutic use such as relaxation, easing sore muscles, providing relief for certain skin conditions.  The benefits of having a Sea Salt Scrub are well known, such as improved circulation, natural skin glow, removal of bacteria and unclogging of pores.

Paraffin wax leaves your skin feeling soothed, hydrated and looking great, especially if you have very dry skin. This treatment is an efficient way of helping to reduce swelling in joints and connective tissue and soothe the pain from arthritis, bursitis, tendonitis, sprains, joint stiffness, sports related injuries and other chronic conditions that cause pain and stiffness.

The treatment also helps to increase range of motion and improve circulation by increasing blood flow to the treated area and also smooth and soften dry, chapped, rough and scaly skin.  It can be helpful for chronic skin disorders such as eczema and psoriasis.

A paraffin treatment uses warm oil-based wax to provide pain relief to the area of concern including sore joints and muscles.

How It Works

Paraffin treatment is a form of deep heat therapy. Liquified paraffin wax is very efficient at absorbing and retaining heat. When you dip your hand or foot, for example, into the paraffin bath, heat transfers from the wax into the affected area as the wax solidifies. The heat increases circulation and relieves pain and stiffness. To aid in skin softening, paraffin increases blood supply to the skin, while also opening pores and trapping moisture from underlying layers of skin.  Paraffin treatment can be part of physical and occupational therapy, and may be performed before therapeutic exercise. It can be beneficial for rehabilitation of sports injuries and other physical trauma.

As a beautiful relaxation and pampering treatment, why not try our Footcure or Handcure Paraffin Wax therapy and give yourself a little bit of luxury, we guarantee you will love this treatment!

After a thorough exfoiliation of the hands and hard skin removal from the feet, warm paraffin wax is gently painted onto your hands or feet in layers to form a warm glove or boot, then heated boots or mittens are placed over the top of the wax and you sit back and relax for 20 minutes.  The wax is then gently peeled off in one mass and your hands or feet are thoroughly massaged with bee venom, the results of this treatment are astounding, you will not be disappointed.

All Paraffin treatments are 60 minutes.
